How to edit a PDF

  1. Open your PDF and switch to the Edit tool.
  2. Pick what to place: Text, Image, Mark, Cover, Shape, Pen or Sign.
  3. Drag a box on the page, then adjust size, colour and rotation.
  4. Save when the page looks right.

What you get

  • Text in any size and colour, with a drop shadow or backdrop fill.
  • Images, and a signature you can draw once and reuse.
  • Highlight to mark a passage, or Cover to hide one.
  • Shapes — box, circle, line, arrow, triangle, diamond and star.
  • Freehand pen for annotations and quick corrections.
  • Rotate any item, and apply it to one page or every page.

When you would use it

Fill in a form that is not a form

Plenty of PDFs have blank lines but no form fields. Drop text boxes where the answers go.

Sign and send back

Draw a signature once, place it, save — no printing or scanning.

Annotate for review

Highlight the clause you are questioning, or cover a figure before sharing.

Why it stays on your device

Most online PDF sites upload your document to a server, process it there and email you a link. This one does not. The PDF is opened, changed and saved by your own browser, so a contract, a bank statement or an ID scan never travels over the network — and the tool keeps working on a slow connection.

Questions

Can I edit the text that is already in the PDF?

You can cover or hide existing text and write over it here. To rewrite a line in place — keeping its original font, size and colour — use the Windows app, which has a dedicated Edit-text tool.

Is my document uploaded to be edited?

No. Everything is drawn and saved by your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

Can I sign a PDF here?

Yes. The Sign option lets you draw a signature and drop it onto the page like an image.

Will my edits be permanent?

Yes — when you save, everything you placed is written into the PDF itself, so it looks the same in any reader.

How can I edit a PDF for free without watermarks?

Nothing here stamps your document. What you place is what gets saved.

Can I add text to a PDF that is a scan?

Yes. Text, shapes and signatures sit on top of the page whether it is real text underneath or a scanned image.
