Translate a PDF
Read a document written in a language you don't speak — the text is translated in place, and the pages keep their layout, tables and pictures.
Runs in your browser · Your file is never uploaded · No account needed
How to translate a PDF
- Open the PDF and choose the Translate tool.
- Pick the language to translate into — the source language is detected automatically.
- Translate — each text block is converted and redrawn in its spot.
- Save the translated PDF.
What you get
- 17 target languages, from English and Turkish to Chinese and Arabic.
- The layout survives: tables, pictures and spacing stay put.
- Automatic source-language detection.
- Only the text is sent to the translation service — never the file.
- Translated pages are rebuilt as pictures, so complex designs don't fall apart.
When you would use it
Read a manual that came in the wrong language
Translate it and the diagrams stay next to the text they explain.
Understand an official letter
A tax notice or a contract clause is translated in place, so you can see which paragraph says what.
Share a document across a bilingual team
Keep the original and a translated copy with identical layouts.
Why it stays on your device
Most online PDF sites upload your document to a server, process it there and email you a link. This one does not. The PDF is opened, changed and saved by your own browser, so a contract, a bank statement or an ID scan never travels over the network — and the tool keeps working on a slow connection.
Questions
Is my PDF uploaded to translate it?
The file never leaves your device. Only the text inside it is sent to a free online translation service — the same one the Windows app uses — and the rebuilt pages are assembled in your browser.
Which languages can I translate into?
English, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Hindi, Bangla, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Can I translate a scanned PDF?
A scan has no text to translate. Run Get text ▸ Make searchable (OCR) first, then translate the searchable copy.
Will the translated text be selectable?
Translated pages are rebuilt as pictures so the layout holds — run Get text on the result if you need the translated words as text.
How do I translate a whole PDF for free?
Open it, pick the target language and save. Every text block is translated and redrawn where it was, page by page.
Does the translated PDF keep images and tables?
Yes — pictures and layout stay put, because the text is replaced inside its own block rather than re-flowed.
